The Flagellants were an extreme religious group who would march from town to city practicing penance by lashing themselves with whips. They strongly believed that the plague was punishment from God because of sin and that they were hurting themselves as redemption for the world's sins. The Church did not approve of their practice and as a result condemned them to imprisonment and or death.

Their Sacrifice an offering to Christ.

Scapegoats to the Church,

Incarcerating the masters,
Brandished as perverse,
Executed by order of the Church.
